The responsibility of the watch designer is to design the appearance of the established movement (later called the mechanical body) according to the product plan to make a watch. When I was an in-house designer at a watch company, there were no questions because it was my job. Although I still think that design work is basically a dialogue with the material, at the same time I realize that I have never really understood the inner workings of the movement.
