According to the statistics of the Indian Business Information Statistics Agency and the Indian Ministry of Commerce, in 2017, the import and export volume of bilateral goods between India and China was 84.54 billion US dollars, an increase of 21.4%. Among them, India imported 72.05 billion US dollars from China, an increase of 18.7 percent. India's major imports from China in 2017 were mechanical and electrical products, chemical products and base metals and products, with imports of $40.35 billion, $10.45 billion and $4.85 billion, respectively, up 27.4%, 12.2% and 11.8%.
