In order to promote the construction of China's ports and international cooperation, promote the rapid development of port trade and port economy, promote the adjustment of industrial structure, and accelerate the development of modern service industry, the China Chamber of International Commerce and the People's Government of Heilongjiang Province comprehensively implement the foreign trade development policy of stabilizing exports and expanding imports. From 2013 to August 8-11, 2018, six "China (Suifenhe) International Port Trade Fairs" were successfully held in Suifenhe City, the "Centennial port".

Located in the center of Northeast Asia economic circle, Suifenhe is a "golden channel" connecting Northeast China with the Far East of Russia and even the whole territory of Russia, Japan, South Korea and Southeast Asia, and is an important port hub for China's trade with Russia. With the comprehensive acceleration of the implementation of Russia's strategy for developing the Far East region, and the proposal and implementation of the research plan for a new sea-land combined transport channel between Suifenhe-Vladivostok - Japan or South Korea's adjacent regions, China-Russia economic and trade cooperation will embrace a new round of development opportunities, and China-Russia-Japan-South Korea economic and trade cooperation will become more efficient, convenient, smooth and convenient.

As China's first national, international and professional trade fair with port as the theme, the expo takes strengthening port cooperation and promoting trade development as the theme. Suifenhe has given full play to its unique geographical location and century-old port advantages, and built an international comprehensive port trading platform integrating information exchange, investment negotiation, exhibition and sales, trade processing, customs clearance logistics and special discussions on port development for domestic and foreign enterprises.

From 2013 to 2018, the six fairs exhibited a total area of 300,000 square meters, the intended turnover of hundreds of millions of yuan, the total number of visitors was nearly 300,000, and more than 5,000 exhibitors, including foreign enterprises from Russia, Germany, South Korea, Thailand, Myanmar, Nepal, Pakistan, Malaysia and other countries. And from Taiwan, Hunan, Shandong, Liaoning, Beijing and other 31 provinces and municipalities, the exhibits involve construction machinery, construction machinery, agricultural machinery, petrochemical equipment and products, automobiles and parts, electronic appliances, light industrial textiles, cultural tourism commodities, food and beverage, jade, jewelry, daily necessities and ceramics. The Expo insisted on setting up a port city pavilion, invited and organized ports and port cities from China, Russia, Japan, Korea and other countries to participate in the exhibition, comprehensively displayed the advanced customs clearance management mode and facilitation measures of each port, actively promoted and improved port construction and trade service functions, and effectively promoted exchanges and cooperation between domestic and foreign ports. The China International Port Development Forum, which aims to promote port construction and border trade development, was also held during the exhibition.
