Samsung is a company in Korea, so its name comes purely from Korean. "Samsung" actually contains two parts - Sam and Sung. Sam stands for "three," and Sung means "star." So from the combination of literal meanings, Samsung means Samsung. In addition, the Korean word "Sam" also means "strong and numerous," and "sung" means "eternal," so the combined meaning is "eternal strong."

The three stars also represent the change in the company's Logo. Today, the company employs more than 230,000 people in 79 companies around the world, making it one of the world's ten most valuable brands. [1]
