Bentley Motors Limited is a world-renowned luxury car manufacturer headquartered in Crewe, England. On January 18, 1919, the company was founded by Walter Owen Bentley. During World War I, Bentley was best known for producing aircraft engines, and after the war, it began designing and manufacturing automotive products. In 1931, Bentley was bought by Rolls-Royce, and in 1998 both were bought by Volkswagen. In August of the same year, BMW bought the right to use the Rolls-Royce trademark for $68 million, and the relationship between the two sides gradually weakened. In the history of nearly a hundred years, the Bentley brand is still shining, and continues to show the world's noble, elegant and fine workmanship of high-quality cars.

    1
    Development history
Walter Owen Bentley (1888-1971) was the founder of the famous Bentley brand. Bentley was born in 1888 to a middle-class family, the middle of nine children, he had a happy childhood, and developed a keen interest in machinery. After graduating from school, Bentley became a railway engineer, working for railway companies in London and elsewhere. Soon, he developed a strong interest in cars, committed to the design and development of high-end sports cars, and set up his own company. At the 1919 auto show, he launched the Bentley 3.0 car named after himself, and since then the Bentley Company has embarked on the professional design of high-end sports cars and racing cars. The next decade was a period of brilliance for Bentley. He has won almost every edition of the famous 24 Hours of Le Mans.
During one World War I, he was employed by the Royal Naval Aviation Technical Committee to work on the improvement of the French Clerget engine. In August 1919, Bentley Motor Co., Ltd. was established with a nominal share capital of 200,000 pounds, but in fact, the cash in the bank was only more than 18,000 pounds. After 21 months of successful development, the model went on sale in September 1921 and was one of the most expensive saloons in the British car market at the time.
In 1931, Bentley joined Rolls-Royce Motor Cars. In 1946, the car production was moved to Crewe, England, by which time Rolls-Royce and Bentley had been split into two separate brands. In the same year, launched by designer Ivan. Avenden designed the Bentley Mark V saloon, which was a huge success in the market, selling 5,200 units in 1952 alone, making it the best-selling car in Bentley history. It is not difficult to see that at this time, Bentley's advantage in speed and sense of sports has deviated from the original intention of its creator to pursue speed and sports pleasure, and has become another luxury car decoration. The Bentley production line also moved to Crewe, England, along with Rolls-Royce in 1946, where it remains today.
Talented engineer Walter Owen Bentley's racing passion created the Bentley brand. The most luxurious interior and sophisticated manual manufacturing process have established the same ultra-luxurious royal style of Bentley and Rolls-Royce, but Bentley pays more attention to the sports of the car, Bentley's strong body and vigorous body is enough to prove this. It is this kind of temperament that makes Bentley out of the frame of Rolls Royce and appear in the world as a "royal athlete".
In the early 1930s, Bentley, which was on the verge of collapse due to financial crisis, became a brand under Rolls-Royce. Bentley 3.5 litre obviously has the style of Rolls-Royce, its style is very popular in the 30's, but the sports performance is not very good. But for Bentley, who has returned to the world after a period of depression, this is considered a success. After the Second World War, Bentley ushered in new opportunities for development. In 1946, Bentley produced the MK6 left-hand steering wheel model came out, which was the first left-hand steering wheel model produced by Bentley, indicating that Bentley had set its sights on foreign markets.
In 1952, the Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud Model S, with a 4.9-litre engine and automatic transmission, was introduced and soon replaced the Model R as Bentley's new mainstay. The 1965 T-series adopted the one-piece body of the Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow, but the powertrain, suspension and brakes were greatly improved. By 1970, the T-Series models were powered by a 6.75-liter V8 cylinder. The replacement of the Model T in the 1980s and the introduction of the turbocharging system injected new life into the Bentley brand.

    2Brand information
In the early 20th century, when the automobile was in its infancy, Walter Owen Bentley took inspiration from the racing circuit and came up with the idea of building a performance-focused, lightweight car. In this era when people's understanding of cars is only limited to transportation, his idea is avant-garde and alternative, and it is also doomed to Bentley from the beginning of its birth is not"public"The product of birth. The Bentley family raised money to bring it to France in 1912DFPSports carHe founded Bentley & Bentley at 3 Hanover Square in London. The W.O. introduced itDFPImprovements were made and the engine was switchedaluminumPiston, improve the performance of the car.

During the First World War, W.O. was employed by the Royal Naval Air Corps Technical Committee, working on the improvement of the French Clergate engine. The aluminum alloy pistons he designed were soon widely used in aircraft engines, not only his improved aero engines known as BR1 and BR2, but he also accumulated a lot of manufacturing experience and mastered enough engineering technology. After the war, he began to design and build his own car.
In early 1919, the new car design was completed. By this time, the company had also raised funds to form what would become known as Bentley Motors Ltd. At the time, the company's nominal share capital was £200,000, while the actual cash in the bank was just over £18,000. As a result, the company was underfunded from the beginning, which laid the groundwork for Bentley's financial difficulties in the future.
From its founding in 1912 to its triumph at Le Mans in 1924, to its near-collapse into Rolls Royce in the early 1930s and its takeover by Volkswagen in 1998, Bentley has endured a lot, but every Bentley has a legendary story. In 1921, Bentley introduced a 3-litre model with 85 HP and a speed of up to 128 km, which was the fastest production car at the time. This model is considered to be a highly innovative product in the automotive world at the time, and pioneered the concept of performance cars. The 3-litre broke almost all endurance and speed records of the time, and later, its derivatives also won the historic Le Mans 24 Hours of 1924, 1927, 1928, 1929 and 1930, and Bentley has been famous since. In 1998, Bentley was acquired by Volkswagen, once some people worried that Bentley's image would be changed, but the later launch of the Elegant RedLabel completely eliminated people's concerns, the Germans did not change Bentley, Bentley's British royal blood is still pure.

    Meaning of car logo
Bentley logo design uses simple and smooth lines, dizzy, outline to form a pair of flying wings, the whole just like a high-flying eagle. The letter "B" in the middle is the letter of the name of Bentley, the founder of Bentley Automobile, which makes Bentley automobile both a regal noble temperament and a memorial to the designer.
In addition, in some high-end Bentley models (such as Mushan, Yajun, Brookland, etc.), the front hood is also equipped with a three-dimensional logo that is the same as the main logo, which is similar to the Rolls-Royce's Flying Goddess three-dimensional logo.
