On April 15-16, 2024, the 2024 China International Sesame (Spring) Conference hosted by the China Chamber of Commerce for Food, Soil and Animal Import and Export was held in Qingdao. President Cao Derong delivered a video address. Zang Yaogang, Second Inspector of the Department of Commerce of Shandong Province, Ambassador Devano, Deputy Director of the Embassy of Ethiopia in China, and Ghulam Qadir, Trade and Investment Counselor of the Embassy of Pakistan in China attended and delivered a speech. Zhao Xianquan, Deputy Special Commissioner of the Special Office of the Ministry of Commerce in Qingdao attended the meeting to guide the work. Nearly 700 sesame upstream and downstream industry experts and business representatives from 11 countries including China, Sudan, Brazil, Ethiopia, Pakistan, India, Japan and South Korea attended the meeting.

 

 

 

 

 

This meeting invited Huang Yongheng, Director of the Department of West Asia and Africa of the Ministry of Commerce, to give a detailed introduction on China-Africa economic and trade cooperation and policy support. Liang Yanfen, former director of the Institute of World Economy of the Research Institute of the Ministry of Commerce, focused on analyzing the economic and trade situation at home and abroad in 2024. Thirteen global sesame industry experts and business representatives made detailed interpretations of the global sesame production situation, import and export trade situation and consumption through keynote speeches and symposiums.

 

 

 

 

During the meeting, I will continue to sign a strategic cooperation agreement with the Indian Oil and Agricultural Products Export Promotion Council to further strengthen the friendly cooperation between the two sides, continue to promote exchanges between the sesame and oilseed oil industries between China and India, and boost the development of the industry.
