General situation

According to customs statistics, in the first two months of 2024, China's total import and export volume of agricultural products was 50.79 billion US dollars, down 4% year-on-year. Among them, the export was 14.83 billion US dollars, up 2.7% year on year; Imports were US $35.96 billion, down 6.5% year-on-year; The trade deficit was $21.13 billion, 12 percent narrower than the same period last year.

Key export agricultural products

Aquatic products: The cumulative export volume of 587,000 tons, an increase of 11.2%, the export value of 2.89 billion US dollars, down 1.8%.

Grain: The cumulative export volume of 307,000 tons, an increase of 10.9%, the export value of 220 million US dollars, down 3%.

Key imported agricultural products

Meat (including sweetmeats) : The cumulative import volume was 1.101 million tons, down 15.2%, and the import value was 3.99 billion US dollars, down 19.1%.

Dried and fresh fruits and nuts: the cumulative import volume was 1.456 million tons, an increase of 18.9%, and the import amount was 4.16 billion US dollars, an increase of 19.6%.

Grain: The cumulative import volume was 26.777 million tons, up 7.7% year-on-year, and the import value was 11.65 billion US dollars, down 14.9% year-on-year. Among them, the cumulative import amount of soybeans was 13.037 million tons, down 8.8% year-on-year, and the import amount was 7.44 billion US dollars, down 22.2% year-on-year.

Edible vegetable oil: The cumulative amount of imports was 1.209 million tons, down 12.4% year-on-year, and the import amount was 1.19 billion US dollars, down 28.7% year-on-year.
