The Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC), Canada's only state-owned media company, was founded in 1936, initially producing only radio programs, and began producing television programs in 1952. The company has two television networks in English and French and four broadcasts in English, French, indigenous languages and international services, covering most of the country's areas and population. Canada The Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC) is the national broadcaster of the Government of Canada. Same as the BBC in the UK. CBC is the behemoth of Canadian broadcasting. It's huge. CBC includes two major parts of television broadcasting and radio broadcasting, equivalent to China Central Television + China National Radio + China Radio International. Its largest English-language headquarters is in Toronto, with more than 3,000 people. The French headquarters is smaller, in Montreal. Across the country, CBC is affiliated with 13 English-language television stations, 8 French television stations, 34 English radio stations, 10 French radio stations, and hundreds of private or community operated stations and broadcast stations. It employs 9,000 people, including 1,300 technicians. 6,000 people aged between 35 and 55. It employs 5,700 men and 3,300 women.

On Dec. 4, 2023, Canada's public broadcaster announced it would cut 600 jobs, or 10 percent of its workforce, as it faces financial challenges from declining television advertising revenue and competition from digital news media. [2]
