The mascots of the Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games are in Italy
The SAN Remo Music Festival
To meet the world.
Tina and Milo, the skunks wearing different colored coats, are the mascots for the 2026 Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games, respectively.
The two mascots are named after the host city of the next Winter Olympics: Tina is derived from Cortina and Milano is derived from Milano. The two mascots are slightly different in character.
Tina, the Winter Olympics mascot, is down-to-earth and creative. Living in the city, she loves to experience shows and concerts. She was struck by the power of beauty and its transformative power. "Dream big" is the best interpretation of her character.
Meanwhile, Miro, the Winter Paralympics mascot, is a dreamer. He loved to joke around, play in the snow, and invent Musical Instruments in his spare time. Nothing can stop his tough character. Despite being born without front PAWS, he learned to use his tail to walk. Obstacles are trampolines. "Obstacles are trampolines."
The introduction of the two mascots brings to a close a creative collaboration between the Milan-Cortina 2026 organizing committee and the Italian Ministry of Education. In the process of cooperation, many primary and secondary school students were invited to provide ideas for creating the mascot.
After receiving more than 1,600 submissions, the committee went through a rigorous screening process and finally selected two finalists for the public to vote on, to get people's opinions on the official mascot design process.
A skat designed by students from the Taverna Comprehensive School in Calabria and a snowflake designed by students from the Sabine Comprehensive School in Segrat in Lombardy entered the final voting process.
Although Tina and Miro eventually became the official mascots, the organizing committee was determined not to let them feel alone in their campaign for the Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games.
Six small snowflakes called "Flo" will accompany the Skerks to show the fun and excitement of Milan-Cortina 2026. Flo's design was inspired by the drawings of students from Sabine Comprehensive School in Segrat.
