Individual competition each group of two players, two inside and outside the draw decision, each sliding circle both sides have to exchange the track, according to the sliding results ranked, the less time to win.

The speed skating competition venue of the Beijing Winter Olympics was held in the National Speed Skating Hall (Ice Ribbon) in the Beijing Competition area.
