Wukesong Sports Center can realize the conversion of ice hockey and basketball in six hours, and is the first professional sports venue in China to host both basketball and ice hockey events in one venue. The Wukesong Ice Sports Center, designed and built according to the ultra-low energy consumption building standard, will be used as an ice hockey training hall during the Beijing Winter Olympics. Its specially designed colorful exterior curtain wall system gives the venue its name "Bingling Flower".

A total of 12 teams participated in the qualifying tournament, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Norway and Poland formed Group C, Group D includes Germany, Denmark, Austria and Italy, and Group E consists of four teams are Sweden, France, Slovakia and South Korea, and the three group winners qualified for the Beijing Winter Olympics.
On November 15, 2021, Beijing time, the Czech team defeated Hungary 5-1 in the qualifying tournament of women's ice hockey for the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympic Games, ranking first in the group with a record of 3 games, which is also the first time in the history of the Czech team to qualify for the Winter Olympic Games. Along with the Czech Republic, Denmark also qualified for the Winter Olympics in Group D. Despite losing to Germany 2-3 in the final match, Denmark managed to drag the match into extra time and score one point, which eventually led to the top of the group over Austria to qualify for the Beijing Winter Olympics

The Women's Ice Hockey event of the Beijing Winter Olympics will be held from February 3 to 17, 2022, with 10 participating teams divided into two groups according to the seed rankings, following the format of the Women's Ice Hockey World Championship. Group A consists of the top five seeded teams USA, Canada, Finland, Russian Olympic Committee and Switzerland; Group B features hosts China, Japan and the Czech Republic, Denmark and Sweden

Three other qualifiers. The five teams in Group A and the top three teams in Group B make up the top eight women's ice hockey teams at the Beijing Winter Olympics.
The group stage was played from 3 to 8 February. On the first match day, China took on the highest seeded qualifying team at the Wukesong Sports Center. In addition, there are three matches between Switzerland and Canada, Finland and the United States, and Japan against qualifying teams. The quarter-finals were played on 11-12 February and the semi-finals on 14 February. The bronze medal and final were held on 16 and 17 February respectively. Wukesong Sports Center is the main arena for women's ice hockey.
In the men's ice hockey qualification match for the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics held at the National Stadium in February 2022, Slovakia defeated Germany 4-0. Denmark beat Latvia 3-2 in the men's ice hockey qualification match for the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics held at Wukesong Sports Center.

The men's ice hockey event at the Beijing Winter Olympics will be held from February 9 to 20, 2022. The first day saw two matches, with the defending champion Russian Olympic Committee taking on Switzerland and the Czech Republic taking on Denmark. The 12 men's ice hockey teams are divided into three groups according to the format of previous Winter Olympics: Group A is Canada, the United States, Germany and China; Group B: Russian Olympic Committee, Czech Republic, Switzerland, Denmark; Group C consists of Finland, Sweden, Slovakia and Latvia.
The group stage was played from 9 to 13 February. In the final stage, 12 teams are seeded according to group results, the top four teams advance to the quarter-finals, and the remaining eight teams play a play-off for the other four quarter-final spots. The semi-finals were played on 18 February, with the bronze and gold matches on 19 and 20 February respectively
