In 1962, Abdullah Shahid was born.

In 1987, obtained University of Canberra, Australia Bachelor's degree in Political Science.
In 1991, he received a master's degree in International relations from Tufts University.
In 1984, he joined the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and served as the director of the International Department.
In January 1995, he became Executive secretary to the President, and in the same year he became a member of the People's Assembly.
From July 2005 to August 2007, he was Minister of State for Foreign Affairs.
He served as Foreign Minister from August 2007 to November 2008.
On 29 May 2009, he was elected Speaker.
He became Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Maldives in November 2018.
On 7 June 2021, he was elected President of the 76th session of the United Nations General Assembly. [4]
