Nippon Education Television Co., LTD. (Japanese: Nippon Education テレビ; Nippon Educational Television Co., Ltd.; NET (English abbreviation: NET), originally set up to broadcast educational programs. To obtain a license, more than 50% of the program must be educational, more than 30% of the program must be educational for children, and combine business and education. However, this attempt failed, so the station began to broadcast animation and foreign movies under the pretext of "cultivating the sentiments of children" and "introducing foreign culture." It barely met the requirement of broadcasting educational programs, but its name was changed from "Nippon Education TV" to "NET TV" (NETテレビ). In fact, it gradually changed into a comprehensive television station.
On March 27, 1967, Nippon Educational Television began broadcasting color television, the fourth television station in Tokyo to broadcast color television.
In November 1973, it was launched with fellow educational television station "Tokyo Channel 12" (Tokyo 12チャンネル, now
TV Tokyo
On the grounds of serious mismanagement, the company obtained the license of a comprehensive television station and rebroadcast it under the name of "Comprehensive Television NET". On April 1, 1977, NET changed its name to National Asahi Broadcasting Co., LTD., or TV Asahi for short. It began broadcasting on December 17, 1978

In 1996, the ANN National Television Network was established and a number of reforms began. First of all, the same identification mark was developed (1996) to establish the overall unified image of the national television network. In 2003, the headquarters was moved from

Also updated to the "/tv asahi" style.
On December 1, 2003, radio digital television was launched. On April 1, 2006, a wireless digital television program was launched on 1seg. On May 12, 2008, wireless digital TV programs began to be watermarked in the form of corporate logos.
At 12 noon on July 24, 2011, TV Asahi officially stopped broadcasting

(But because of the March 2011 earthquake and tsunami, in
Miyagi-ken
,
Iwate-ken
,
Fukushima-ken
In three severely affected areas, the termination of analog signal transmission was postponed to March 2012).
The old TV Asahi logo was used until September 2003.
The new tv asahi logo is a stick-like pattern that looks similar to "/tv asahi" and "tv asahi\". Designed by established British designers TOMATO, part of electronic music band Underworld, and TV Asahi's Inhouse Design, the logo is an animation that responds to sounds and moves differently, without repeating them. It will appear in the top right corner of the screen for about 3 seconds after the end of each commercial, and will also be displayed during the beginning and end of the broadcast.
This began in conjunction with the relocation of the station in the fall of 2003. Starting in September 2004, it will also appear in a random motion after the live broadcast signal ends. The accompanying music was also produced by Underworld. The standard typeface of the logo is Akzidenz Grotesk Bold in the English part and ヒラギノ corner ゴシック in the Japanese part (W8). It is now up to the design team to continue the overall identification design of the TV station.
