In 1913, the Olympic flag was chosen at the suggestion of Pierre de Coubertin and displayed in public for the first time. It was first raised at the 1914 Olympic Plenum in Paris to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the revival of the Olympic Games [3-4] . In 1920, after the end of the Antwerp Olympic Games, it became the official flag [4] . In 2010, with the approval of the International Olympic Committee Executive Board, the official version of the Olympic Rings reverted to their original, seamless interlaced design [2] .

The Olympic symbol was raised at the 1920 Games in Antwerp
In 1913, the Olympic flag was chosen at the suggestion of Pierre de Coubertin and displayed in public for the first time.
It was first raised at the 1914 Olympic Plenum in Paris to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the revival of the Olympic Games [4] , Coubertin Explains his design ideas for the logo [3] .
In 1920, after the Antwerp Games, the Belgian National Olympic Committee presented the flag used by the General Assembly to the International Olympic Committee and became the official flag of the Games [4] .
In 1957, the IOC officially approved a specific version of the Olympic Ring, intersecting with Coubertin's ring only slightly differently.
In 1986, the IOC Graphic Standard for the Olympic Flag included an official version of the description of how to make a ring with space.
In 2010, with the approval of the International Olympic Committee Executive Board, the official version of the Olympic Rings reverted to their original, seamless interlaced design [2] .

Pierre de Coubertin Le baron Pierre De Coubertin (1863-1937) was born in Paris, France. In 1913, Pierre de Coubertin designed the five rings of blue, yellow, black, green and red for the International Olympic Committee. Known as the "Father of the Modern Olympics" [9] .

On July 26, 2020, the original design of the Olympic flag by Pierre de Coubertin was sold at auction in Cannes for 185,000 euros. The original design of the Olympic flag is drawn with graphite and gouache on white paper, the size of which is 21×27.5 cm. In the middle of the white paper, a pattern of five rings was drawn [7] .
