Tokyo 2020
emblem
The original logo of the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games was officially released on July 24, 2015. It uses the common initial "T" of the English word "Tokyo", the word "Team" representing team cooperation, and the word "Tomorrow" symbolizing a better tomorrow. On this basis, the black representing diversity and the red circular pattern representing the heart beat were generated, which was officially abandoned on September 1, 2015, and the new emblem of the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games was officially released on April 25, 2016. The rectangle has a long history in many countries and regions in the world. In Japan, the rectangle was already known during the Edo period of Japan and was known as the "ichimatsumoyo". At the same time, the indigo blue used in the pattern is also a typical traditional Japanese color, symbolizing elegance and maturity.
The whole emblem is composed of three different rectangles, which represent different countries and regions, different cultures and different ways of thinking, conveying the concept of "diversity and integration", and also expressing the hope of the Tokyo Olympic and Paralympic Games to create a diverse platform to connect the world. The emblem was designed by the famous Japanese artist and designer Asao Nonao.
