The main building design of the National Ski Jumping Center is inspired by the traditional Chinese ornament "Ruyi",

From the top of the ring of the jumping platform, to the profile line and the bottom stand, it fits perfectly with the S-shaped curve of "Ruyi", known as "Snow Ruyi", which reflects the dynamic of the sports architecture and highlights the Chinese cultural elements.

The height difference between the top of the stadium and the bottom ground reaches more than 160 meters. The top of the "Ruyi" shape is the summit club, which is a ring building with a diameter of nearly 80 meters, and the maximum overhang is nearly 40 meters. The prestressed steel truss structure system is used, and the double-layer lattice shell structure is surrounded by cantilever structures. The maximum length of cantilever is about 37 meters, and the steel volume is as much as 2000 tons.

On December 4, 2021, the "Meet Beijing" series of test events 2021/2022 ISF Ski Jumping Intercontinental Cup and 2021/2022 ISF Nordic Intercontinental Cup started at Guyangshu Stadium Complex in Zhangjiakou Area of Beijing 2022 Winter Olympic Games. "Snow Ruyi" ski jumping women's individual standard platform, ski jumping men's individual big jump and Nordic ski jumping men's individual big jump three events, the two Intercontinental Cup events continued to 5 days.

The National Ski Jumping Center is the competition venue for the ski jumping event of the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics. It is the competition venue with the largest engineering amount and the highest technical difficulty in the Zhangjiakou host area. The National Ski Jumping Center can be used for large-scale international competitions of ski jumping as well as for ski teaching and training. It meets the International Snow Federation construction standards and is the first sports venue in China to use ski jumping as the main purpose.

After the Winter Olympics, the National Ski Jumping Center will continue to be used for events and professional training. Grass can be planted on the slide in non-snow season, and recreational items related to grass skiing can be set up.
