In January 1961, the secondary technical school was restored, and the Beijing Institute of Civil Engineering and Architecture was rebuilt into the Beijing Civil Engineering School, and a part of the teachers and three grades of college students were established Beijing University of Technology The Department of Civil Engineering (then known as the Sixth Department) and the Department of Chemical Engineering (the fourth department). The school has always strengthened to meet the needs of major national and regional strategies and major projects, It has formed a number of characteristic disciplines, research directions and innovation teams with comparative advantages in the country, represented by architectural heritage protection, urban and rural planning and architectural design, urban transportation infrastructure and underground engineering, sponge city construction, modern urban mapping, solid waste resource technology, green building and energy saving technology. As of April 2020, Beijing University of Civil Architecture Library It has a paper collection of 1.469 million volumes, an online collection of 1.85 million electronic books, and a large electronic literature database of 77. It has jointly built the China Architecture Library with the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development, and is a university with a relatively complete range of architecture books in China. It has 1.529 million paper books, 1.85 million electronic books, and 52 large electronic document databases. Among them, 1.39 million foreign books (including more than 100,000 books in the reference room of the School of Architecture, School of Grammar and School of Economics and Management, 250,000 books in the Daxing Branch library, 550,000 books in the main library and 400,000 books in the Chinese Architecture Library), with an average of 159 books for students; There are 1,435 periodicals (1,109 in the department and 326 in Daxing branch library), 60 newspapers, hundreds of materials (technical standards, engineering standard drawings, etc.), 40 databases (including 25 in Chinese, 10 in foreign languages, 3 self-built libraries, 2 self-built network resource platforms), and 300,000 electronic books (a total of 1.21 million in non-local network). 75% of the books in the collection are science books and 60% are architecture books.
The library of the school has accumulated a batch of precious and valuable architectural literature, including 60% Chinese, 40% foreign languages, and about 4000 volumes of famous ancient books and original documents. There are 30 kinds in the Journal of China Construction Society and 28 kinds in the university library. The 1951 edition of Muslim Architecture in Egypt is 550 copies worldwide, and the school library has three volumes: 299, 426 and 516. The original English edition of Swedish Xi Renlong's "The Walls and Gates of Beijing" in 1924 was 800 copies worldwide, and the 241st volume was collected by the school library. From the Qing Qianlong capital map to a variety of old Beijing maps are collected, and the establishment of the digital "Beijing Map" feature resource package.
The university library has successively cooperated with the Beijing Regional University Library Document Resources Guarantee System (BALIS) and the China Higher Education Document Guarantee System (BALIS). CALIS The National Science, Technology and Literature Center (NSTL) signed the original text delivery and interlibrary loan agreement, realizing the sharing of literature resources among universities in Beijing. As of May 2023, the University has initially built the "Belt and Road" urban international Innovation Center and 7 thematic international innovation cooperation platforms, established cooperative relations with 104 colleges and institutions in 44 countries and regions, and pragmatically promoted academic exchanges and international cooperative research. The "Belt and Road" International Alliance of Architecture Universities has been joined by 72 institutions from 27 countries, and has become an international alliance of professional universities with high visibility. Through Chinese-foreign cooperation in running schools and recruiting international students, the school has trained nearly 1,000 Chinese and foreign students. School badge
The campus characteristic building is the main design element. The material comes from the experimental Building No. 5 of the old campus, which was built in the 1950s and is listed as an excellent modern architecture in Beijing. Supplemented by the logo of 1907, it forms the core pattern, showing the long history, architectural culture and school-running characteristics of the Alma mater.
The main pattern is a simple and detailed building facade image, its horizontal layout breaking through the inner ring is stable and generous, the whole is loose and delicate, and the prominent porch steps have a sense of entering the house, reflecting the spiritual pursuit of teachers and students of the school.
The name of the school is written in English and Chinese. The English font is Times New Roman, which is commonly used in universities at home and abroad. The Chinese font is written by Mr. Ouyang Zhongshi.
