This requires not only accurate calculations and correct command, but also modern mountain scrapers, ventilators and pumps.
Former pair Zhan Tianyou All of them are not a problem, and China did not have the latter at that time, only relying on the hands of workers, and its degree of difficulty can be imagined.
At the same time, when the north and south ends are dug into the middle point of the tunnel, the shaft method is used to dig, and the middle of the two straight Wells can be dug in the opposite direction, increasing the working face, and relying on manpower to build this first long tunnel in the history of road construction in China.
The Jing-Zhang Railway is best known for its work to overcome Nankou and Badaling The height difference was built while the Qinglongqiao station Herringbone railway . Many difficulties were overcome and the second section was completed in September 1908.

Garden to Jimingyi Although the fork of the mining area is not long, the right side of the sheep River, the left side of the stone mountain, the mountain to open a six-zhang-wide channel, the foot of the mountain to pad seven li long river bed.
Zhan Tianyou That is to use the stones of the mountain to cushion the river bed below. In order to prevent the impact of mountain floods on the roadbed, cement bricks are used to protect it. On September 24, 1909, it reached Zhangjiakou and completed the third section.
The construction of the Beijing-Zhangjiao Railway began on September 4, 1905, and ended on October 2, 1909 Nankou It took only four years for the opening ceremony to be held, and the construction period of the Beijing-Zhang Railway was two years ahead of schedule.
