After 21 years of development, the new season of China Volleyball League will be renamed "China Volleyball Super League". In the morning of September 26, 2017, the new season league competition work coordination meeting held in Beijing Guangxi Building, Li Quanqiang, director of the General Administration of Volleyball Center, said that China's volleyball should take the league as the key breakthrough and the main work starting point, and no matter how the name of the league changes, the word "reform" is still the guidelines and starting point of China's volleyball work.

On September 26, 2017, the 2016-2017 season China Volleyball League Award ceremony and China Volleyball Super League sailing ceremony will be held in Beijing. At that time, the Chinese Volleyball League will be officially upgraded to the "Super League".
Since last year, in accordance with the "three-step" strategy of the professional reform of the volleyball league, the volleyball Volleyball league has introduced a large number of improvement measures in the competition system, competition schedule, commercial promotion and other aspects. In this reform strategy, the volleyball management Center divides the specific reform measures into three steps: the first step is to find a professional company to operate the league; the second step is to introduce the club access system, so that the construction of the club can meet the requirements of professionalism; and the third step is to draw the league closer to the professional league at an appropriate time, and even create a "Chinese volleyball Super League".
With the official coming of the "super League era", it indicates that the Chinese volleyball league begins to leap to the super league mode with a higher degree of professionalism.
