The film's story is inspired by director Zhang Yimou's own early experiences. "One Second" is Zhang Yimou's heart of the story, but also the memory of his youth. Shooting process

Filming began in Dunhuang on July 10, 2018, and took 46 days to complete in early September ^[50] .

Role selection
