The Alpine skiing events of the Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games have produced 21 Olympic gold MEDALS and 30 Paralympic Winter gold MEDALS.
Yanqing Area is the area with the largest number of newly built venues among the three areas of Beijing Winter Olympic Games, and it is also the area with the shortest construction period, the most difficult and the highest standard. The characteristics of the competition area are summarized as "high, fast and difficult" : First, the highest stadium of the Winter Olympics is in Yanqing. The National Alpine Skiing Center is located in the small Haituo Mountain, 2198 meters above sea level, alpine skiing projects have high requirements for site design and construction standards. Second, the fastest event in the Winter Olympics is in Yanqing. Alpine skiing combines speed and technique perfectly, with an average speed of more than 100 kilometers per hour. Snowmobile is one of the fastest events in the Winter Olympics, known as "F1 on ice", the game is thrilling, exciting, and very entertaining.

The Yanqing Winter Olympic Village, a living place for athletes and coaches, began construction on December 30, 2018 and will be fully completed by the end of 2020. The Winter Olympic Village adheres to the concept of "mountain forest venues, ecological Winter Olympic Village" in design, and strives to build green ecological venues to achieve sustainable development.
The construction of Yanqing Winter Olympic Village project is characterized by ecological sustainability, which is reflected in ultra-low energy consumption demonstration, ancient village site protection, barrier-free design and intelligent habitat technology. The Winter Olympic Village strictly implements the concept of low-carbon and environmentally friendly buildings, and will provide green, open, safe and comfortable living and service experience for athletes and team members. The Winter Olympic Village will protect and relocate 313 trees in situ and build habitats for small animals. Some apartments adopt the prefabricated decoration process, which not only reduces consumables, but also is green.
The construction area of Yanqing Winter Olympic Village is 104,200 square meters, the total construction area is 118,000 square meters, and it is composed of 6 residential groups, 1 public group and parking area. The whole Winter Olympic Village adopts semi-open courtyard layout, which fully reflects the characteristics of residential architecture in northern China. The housing team provides housing services for athletes and team officials. During the Winter Paralympics, 247 rooms and 683 beds are provided, including 79 wheelchair accessible rooms and 158 beds. A total of 571 rooms and 168 beds will be provided during the Winter Olympics

On January 21, 2022, the torch relay route for the Beijing 2022 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games was officially released. The Beijing 2022 Olympic torch relay will be held in Beijing, Yanqing and Zhangjiakou from February 2 to 4. There are 2 points in Yanqing competition area.

Yanqing competition area set up a killing team of 109 people, 17 special vehicles, equipped with professional equipment, every day in the venue, contracted hotels, concentrated places to carry out preventive disinfection.
In addition, a total of 5 Olymph-related isolation hotels and 221 isolation rooms have been prepared in Yanqing Competition area, and 3 have been used, a total of 147 isolation rooms, equipped with 41 medical and epidemic prevention personnel, and strictly prevent hospital feeling and spilt over.

On February 10, 2022, at the National Alpine Ski Center in Yanqing, a Swiss athlete was injured in the men's alpine all-around speed skating event and suffered an open fracture of his left forearm. After the stadium medical officer's investigation and judgment, it was decided to use the Beijing 999 medical transport helicopter to participate in the rescue, and it took only 8 minutes to transfer the injured athletes to the designated hospital in the competition area
