From November 20 to November 30, 2016, the Beijing Organizing Committee for the 2022 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games (BOCOG) solicited submissions for the design of the emblem of the Beijing 2022 Olympic Winter Games. On November 4, 2017, the emblem of the Beijing Winter Olympic Games was approved. On December 15, 2017, the emblem was officially released.

The top half of the emblem of the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympic Games shows the shape of the skater and the bottom half shows the hero of the skier, reflecting the concept of the two major sports held by China. The dancing lines in the middle are smooth and full of rhythm, representing the rolling mountains of the venue, the racing field, the snow and ice slides and the festival flowing ribbon, adding a visual feeling of festive celebration to the emblem.

The collection of designs for the emblems of the Beijing Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games was launched, and invitations were sent out to the world.
In September 2016, the Beijing Winter Olympic Organizing Committee held the "Beijing 2022 Design Forum", inviting professional design institutions and designers around the world to discuss the emblem and image landscape design, and announcing the collection methods and documents of the emblem at the same time.
On November 20, 2016, the design of the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympic Games emblem officially began to accept submissions, and by November 30, the submission deadline, a total of 4,506 designs have been received from 31 provincial administrative units in China and 13 countries outside China.
On December 16, 2016, the expert evaluation Committee of the emblem of the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympic Games selected 10 finalists according to the evaluation procedures and rules of the emblem, after the initial evaluation and re-evaluation
Central Academy of Fine Arts
The concept design of "Winter" created by Lin Cunzhen, vice president of the School of Design, ranked first in the total score.
On January 14, 2017, the Beijing Winter Olympic Organizing Committee conducted a concentrated study on the shortlisted works, identified 4 works as the direction of further modification and improvement, and then commissioned the design experts from the Central Academy of Fine Arts and the original authors to form a revision team. The various components of the emblem, such as the Olympic graphics, Paralympic graphics, color system, and text logo "Beijing 2022", have been deeply modified.
From April to August 2017, the re-examination of the candidate emblem of the Beijing Winter Olympics was carried out in China and around the world to ensure the originality and intellectual property rights of the emblem.
On November 4, 2017, the working group of the 24th Winter Olympic Games approved the emblem of the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympic Games.
On December 6, 2017, the IOC Executive Board officially approved the design of the emblem of the Beijing Winter Olympic Games.

The design pattern of the logo is divided into upper, middle and lower three parts. The main body is like a freehand cursive script of the Chinese character "winter" with different gradient colors. The abstract slide, ice and snow movement form is combined with calligraphy, and the two points below the word "winter" are merged into 2022.
