Gao Yunlong led a delegation to Indonesia, Thailand and Australia, actively guiding and serving private enterprises to rationally enter into the international market in Southeast Asia and Oceania.

 
At the invitation of the Indonesian Chinese Chamber of Commerce, Thai-Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Australia China Business Council, Gao Yunlong, vice chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) and chairman of All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce (ACFIC), led a delegation of the ACFIC to attend the 16th World Chinese Entrepreneurs Convention in Thailand from June 21 to June 30, 2023, and successfully completed a visit to Indonesia, Thailand and Australia. The delegation thoroughly understood Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, actively practiced Xi’s thought on diplomacy, earnestly implemented the achievements of Chinese President Xi Jinping’s head of state diplomacy in recent years, and took the initiative to promote the spirit of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China and the concept of building a community with a shared future for mankind to Chinese businessmen and business and political circles in visited countries, publicized the achievements of the 10th anniversary of the construction of the Belt and Road Initiative and the great achievements made by Chinese private enterprises since the reform and opening up, actively guided private enterprises to rationally enter into the international market in the three countries as well as Southeast Asia and Oceania, and promoted the transformation and upgrading of private enterprises to achieve high-quality development.
 
At the 16th World Chinese Entrepreneurs Convention, Gao Yunlong pointed out that on the stage of human civilization and progress, generations of Chinese businessmen have blazed a new road of entrepreneurship with the spirit of perseverance, tenacity and self-improvement, and have interpreted the realm of life of both strengthening ourselves and helping others where possible. They have continued to create new business miracles, inject great vitality into the world economy, make important contributions to promoting China’s reform, opening up and modernization, and make fruitful achievements in the Belt and Road Initiative. The 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China proposed that China will accelerate creating a new development pattern and promote high-level opening up. At present, the construction of China’s 21 pilot free trade zones and the Hainan Free Trade Port is progressing rapidly and steadily, and the new land-sea corridor in western China is open to the outside, linking China and other countries. The continuously improved business environment attracts businesses near and far. Chinese businessmen are the bridge and link between China and the world. The majority of Chinese businessmen should uphold the fine Chinese cultural traditions, follow international practices, abide by the laws and regulations of their host countries, respect local customs and habits, increase investment in science and technology, fulfill the social responsibilities of global enterprises, promote the Chinese business road of harmony and prosperity, show the beauty of harmony of Chinese culture, and demonstrate the beautiful image of China as a state of ceremonies. They should promote world peace and development and the progress of human civilization with the development of their enterprises, and contribute to the building of an open, inclusive, clean and beautiful world that enjoys lasting peace, universal security and common prosperity.
 
During the visit, Gao Yunlong and his delegation met with H.E. Airlangga Hartarto, Indonesia’s Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs, Surayud Chulanont, president of the Privy Council, Tim Ayres, the Assistant Minister for Foreign Affairs and Trade, and other heads of foreign government departments and business associations. They spoke highly of the diplomatic achievements and cooperation consensus reached by Chinese President Xi Jinping and the heads of state of the three countries, appreciated China’s unswerving adherence to the win-win strategy of opening up to the outside world, deeply praised China’s development and modernization achievements since reform and opening up, and admired the huge achievements made by Chinese private enterprises in market-oriented development. They expressed willingness to encourage domestic enterprises, especially small and medium-sized enterprises, to strengthen exchanges with Chinese enterprises, and promote practical, mutually beneficial and win-win cooperation in new energy, green development, scientific and technological innovation and other fields. Gao said that the three countries are all signatories of RCEP and have an important position and role in regional and even world affairs. Economic and Trade cooperation is the most active and dynamic driving force for bilateral relations with broad prospects for cooperation. Chinese private enterprises are booming to a new force in foreign economic and trade cooperation. The three countries are all major destinations for Chinese private enterprises to invest and important countries for import and export trade. Against the backdrop of the rising pressure of recession of the global economy, the ACFIC will continue to promote the high-level exchanges and cooperation between Chinese private enterprises and the business communities of the three countries, so as to achieve high-level mutual benefit and win-win results.
 
During the three-country visit, the delegation held discussions and exchanges with Chinese enterprises in the region, and successively investigated Chinese and foreign enterprises and projects such as China-Indonesia Economic and Trade Cooperation Zone, Yili Indonesia Dairy Production Base, Indonesian coal mining company Bayan Resources, Indonesian company Tokopedia, and Torch Innovation Precinct at UNSW. Gao Yunlong said that there is huge space for cooperation between enterprises of China and the three countries in many fields such as scientific and technological innovation, digital trade, e-commerce, new energy, agriculture, tourism and medicine. He stressed that private enterprises should keep the motherland in mind and the whole world in view, and promote the deepening of economic and trade cooperation between China and the host countries. They should follow international rules and strictly abide by local laws and regulations, so as to demonstrate the modern civilized quality of Chinese enterprises. They should also actively fulfil their social responsibilities in the local places, presenting a good image of Chinese enterprises to the outside world.
 
During the visit, the delegation met with the Chinese embassies in Indonesia, Thailand, Australia and the Consulate General in Sydney, and received their active support and help. After listening to the relevant briefing, Gao Yunlong expressed the hope to further strengthen communication and cooperation with foreign embassies and consulates, so as to jointly create favorable conditions for private enterprises to participate in the construction of the Belt and Road Initiative and actively explore the international market.
