In the first May, China's import and export of goods trade increased by 6.3% year-on-year

Beijing, June 10 (Xinhua) -- The General Administration of Customs recently learned that in the first May of this year, the total value of China's trade in goods was 17.5 trillion yuan, an increase of 6.3%. Among them, the export was 9.95 trillion yuan, up by 6.1% year on year; Imports reached 7.55 trillion yuan, up 6.4% year on year. Since the beginning of this year, China's economic performance has continued to pick up and improve, and the momentum of foreign trade has been consolidated. In May, China's imports and exports increased by 8.6% year-on-year, and the monthly growth rate further accelerated.

Customs statistics show that in the first five months, China's general trade, processing trade, bonded logistics imports and exports have increased. Among them, the import and export of general trade was 11.4 trillion yuan, up 5.6% year on year, accounting for 65.1% of China's total foreign trade; The import and export of processing trade was 3.02 trillion yuan, up 1.6% year-on-year, accounting for 17.3%; China's imports and exports in the form of bonded logistics reached 2.42 trillion yuan, up 16.5% year on year.

In the first May, ASEAN was China's largest trading partner, and the total trade value between China and ASEAN was 2.77 trillion yuan, an increase of 10.8%, accounting for 15.8% of the total foreign trade value of China; China's total imports and exports to countries jointly building the Belt and Road Initiative totaled 8.31 trillion yuan, up 7.2% year-on-year.

Customs statistics also show that mechanical and electrical products accounted for nearly 60% of exports, of which automatic data processing equipment and its parts, integrated circuits and automobiles exports increased. In the first May, China's export of mechanical and electrical products was 5.87 trillion yuan, an increase of 7.9%, accounting for 59% of the total export value. Among them, automatic data processing equipment and its parts and components were 554.46 billion yuan, an increase of 9.9%; Integrated circuit 444.73 billion yuan, an increase of 25.5%; Automobiles reached 329.7 billion yuan, up 23.8 percent year on year.
