The Provincial Department of Commerce held an economic and trade promotion meeting with the Embassy of Uganda

In order to enhance the understanding of the investment and trade policies of Uganda by enterprises in Jilin Province, help enterprises in the province to find business opportunities in Uganda, and promote the economic and trade cooperation between Jilin Province and Uganda, on March 11, the Uganda economic and trade Promotion Meeting co-sponsored by the Department of Commerce of Jilin Province and the Embassy of Uganda in China was held in Changchun. Ambassador of Uganda to China Crispas Jiyongjia and Deputy Secretary-General of Jilin Provincial People's Government Zhang Kaiming attended and addressed the meeting. Wang Zhiwei, Director of the Provincial Department of Commerce, Huang Lihua, deputy director of the provincial Foreign Affairs Office and other leaders of relevant provincial departments and representatives of economic and trade enterprises inside and outside the province attended the meeting.

Zhang Kaiming, deputy Secretary-General of Jilin Provincial People's Government, said in his speech: "Although Jilin Province and Uganda are separated by thousands of miles, they have high industrial compatibility and strong economic complementarity, and future cooperation will have broader prospects." Uganda is located in the important node of the "Belt and Road" and is also an important region for Jilin's investment and development in East Africa. We believe that through this economic and trade promotion meeting, the two sides will further broaden the areas of cooperation, expand the scale of trade and upgrade the level of cooperation."

At the promotion meeting, officials of the Ugandan Embassy in China introduced in detail Uganda's investment fields, investment methods, investment and trade policies and preferential policies for the establishment of industrial parks in Uganda, saying that the Ugandan Embassy in China will provide information and consulting services and connections for Jilin enterprises.

Uganda is located in eastern Africa, straddling the equator, known as the "pearl of Africa". At present, the Ugandan government is actively attracting foreign investment and plans to provide preferential policies in five fields: agriculture, processing and manufacturing, industrial park construction, export goods and tourism. China and Uganda have always maintained friendly relations. The economic and trade cooperation between Jilin Province and Uganda has made steady progress. Many enterprises have contracted projects and invested in factories in Uganda.

The promotion conference also held docking talks, nearly 50 Gilinese enterprises and representatives of the Ugandan embassy in China docking, exchanges, many enterprises showed great interest in Uganda investment.
