CRIMJUST– Disrupting Criminal Networks operating along Illicit Trafficking Routes aims to support countries located along supply chains of illicitly trafficked commodities in Latin America, the Caribbean, and Africa to go beyond interdiction activities by strengthening transnational investigations, criminal justice actions & cooperation, with a view of disrupting organised crime networks. Its programming is implemented as follows:

  • Investigating and prosecuting transnational illicit trafficking: Strengthened capacity of criminal justice actors to investigate and prosecute transnational illicit trafficking and related organised crime, including via the use of special investigative techniques, targeting the disruption of high-risk criminal groups.

  • Depriving organized crime groups of illicit proceeds: Enhancing specialized knowledge and capacity of criminal justice institutions to employ financial crime actions and strategies.

  • Fostering institutional integrity and promoting Human Rights Standards: Enhancing institutional integrity and accountability as well as mainstreaming of human-rights based and gender-sensitive interventions of criminal justice actors engaged in combatting organised crime along illicit trafficking routes.

CRIMJUST promotes the incorporation of gender considerations to criminal justice responses across its interventions to ensure participating states and relevant authorities can access the strategic knowledge, resources, and capacities necessary to address unique challenges facing vulnerable persons.
