The 9th Shanghai International Stainless Steel Exhibition (STEXPO 2015) will be held in Shanghai on September 2-4, 2015, which is currently the world's largest international stainless steel professional exhibition, held every two years.
Since its inception in 1999, Shanghai International Stainless Steel Exhibition has been successfully held for eight sessions, and has gone through a course of 15 years. Over the past 15 years, Shanghai International Stainless Steel Exhibition has been committed to promoting industrial technological progress, improving the level of industry development, expanding the scope of application of stainless steel products, promoting international stainless steel business exchanges, promoting the development of stainless steel industry achievements, and making important contributions to the development of China's stainless steel industry. China's crude stainless steel production reached 18.98 million tons in 2013, the apparent consumption reached nearly 14.82 million tons, and the per capita consumption of stainless steel was 10.9kg, reaching the level of developed countries in the world. China has become the world's largest and most important stainless steel production base and a large capacity and wide range of stainless steel consumer market. In recent years, China's stainless steel enterprises, especially a number of private enterprises through process innovation and technological transformation, the level of process equipment has been continuously improved, and the competitiveness has been continuously enhanced. China's stainless steel new product development has made significant progress, super austenite, super ferrite and super duplex stainless steel and other new varieties have come out, corrosion and heat resistant alloys have also made new breakthroughs, domestic stainless steel equipment manufacturing industry, processing and distribution capacity and e-commerce have also developed rapidly. China's stainless steel industry to meet the domestic transportation industry, building structure, energy and environmental protection, nuclear power construction, petroleum and petrochemical industry and furniture and home appliances and other industries demand is increasing.
At present, China's stainless steel industry is facing new development opportunities and challenges. With people's unprecedented attention to food safety and hygiene, stainless steel materials for manufacturing catering utensils and equipment and facilities related to food production, transportation and storage have unique advantages; Stainless steel also has great market potential in China's medical, pension, sports and other livelihood health fields and green building fields. In terms of meeting the high-end demand of China's manufacturing industry, there is still a large room for development. The development of China's stainless steel industry is also facing a series of major issues such as variety structure optimization, quality improvement, energy saving and emission reduction, concentration improvement, management innovation, expansion of application scope, and enhancement of international exchanges.
