The uptrend figures highlight the strong resilience and vitality of the Belt and Road initiative, set up a "life channel" to fight against the epidemic, a "growth channel" for economic recovery, and a "win-win bridge" to unleash potential, demonstrating China's initiative and responsibility as a major country.
Data released by the Ministry of Commerce shows that from January to November 2020, China's non-financial direct investment in countries related to the Belt and Road Initiative reached 15.96 billion US dollars, an increase of 24.9% year-on-year. In the face of the rare epidemic in a century, the uptrend data fully demonstrate the strong resilience and vitality of the Belt and Road initiative, showing China's initiative and responsibility as a major country, and injecting a warm current into the "winter" of the global economy.
First, the Belt and Road Initiative has created a "channel of life" for fighting the epidemic. In 2020, Belt and Road partners will support each other, work together to fight the epidemic and achieve common development. China has played its role as the world's largest supplier of anti-epidemic supplies, providing more than 280 batches of emergency supplies to more than 150 countries and international organizations. Statistics show that the number of China-Europe freight trains in 2020 exceeded 10,000, and the volume of freight trains in the first 10 months of last year exceeded that of the whole year of 2019, becoming a "steel transport camel train" to help countries fight the epidemic. China has also provided support and assistance to many countries and regions through the "Air Silk Road", and delivered more than 1,700 tons of anti-epidemic supplies during the epidemic.
Second, the "Belt and Road" has set up a "growth channel" for economic recovery. During the epidemic, the Belt and Road projects did not stop, but quickly resumed production. For example, the first large-scale rail transit project of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor, the Orange Line project in Lahore, Pakistan, was officially opened to traffic in October 2020, opening the "metro era" in Pakistan. At the same time, China has established with many Belt and Road partner countries "green channels" to facilitate the flow of goods and "fast channels" to facilitate the flow of people, which has played a positive role in ensuring the economic development of Belt and Road related countries.
Third, the "Belt and Road" has set up a "win-win bridge" to release potential. In the past year, China and its Belt and Road partners accelerated the process of regional economic integration and signed such documents as the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement and the Cooperation Plan between the Government of the People's Republic of China and the African Union on Jointly Advancing the Belt and Road Initiative, injecting new impetus into the accelerated recovery of the global economy. At present, the "Belt and Road" cooperation has made many achievements in the "Silk Road e-commerce", the construction of digital transportation corridors, the construction of cross-border optical cable information channels, and the construction of China-Asean information ports.

In 2021, China will continue to embrace the world with open arms, attach greater importance to cooperation with countries involved in the Belt and Road Initiative, and provide stronger impetus, more space and a better path for the Belt and Road cooperation, so as to advance the Belt and Road cooperation to a higher quality.
