Siemens successfully delivered shore power conversion power system to Yantian International Container Terminal

   2016-03-11 IP Jilin 118

On March 3, 2016, the inverter power supply for Marine shore power system engineering provided by Siemens for Yantian International Container Terminal Co., LTD. (Yantian International YICT) passed acceptance smoothly and was officially delivered for use. The two new sets of mobile shore power supply in Yantian International shore power embarkating project can provide shore power for ships with 2 berths at the same time, and can cover 5 berths to provide shore power supply facilities. Siemens provided variable frequency power supply cabinet, PLC (programmable control system) cabinet, switch cabinet and distribution cabinet for the shore power system project. The shore power supply is transferred to the ship after frequency conversion, which provides the ship with the operation power during the port, and stops the use of the ship's own fuel generator, thereby reducing the emission of air pollutants.

"Transportation is an important area of energy conservation and emission reduction, and the implementation of shore power projects is the only way to develop green shipping." "As one of the world's largest suppliers of resource-efficient technologies, Siemens has comprehensive solutions to improve energy efficiency and reduce emissions, including a full range of shore power systems," said Lin Bin, executive vice president and general manager of the Process Industries and Drives Group at Siemens China.

The shore frequency conversion power supply system provided by Siemens for Yantian International consists of two sets of independent 4000KVA onshore mobile shore frequency conversion power stations, which can operate independently and can be used in parallel to meet the technical requirements of a maximum output of 8000KVA. Its core is the Siemens Sinamics S120 series inverter hardware platform, for shore power frequency conversion power applications to carry out special hardware and software design, the overall system can operate in four quadrants, modular structure easy to expand, with good system openness and can realize the ship and shore grid connection synchronous switching.

Siemens is able to provide a total solution for Marine shore power. The inverter power system is designed, supplied, installed and commissioned by Siemens Factory Automation Engineering GMBH (SFAE). Siemens is able to provide comprehensive solutions for shore power systems from consulting, design to manufacturing implementation. Siemens offers a full range of shore power systems ranging from 500KVA to 20MVA for bulk terminals, container terminals and large cruise terminals.

With the development of society and the progress of economy, the economic model of energy saving, environmental protection, saving and friendly has been paid more and more attention and promoted. In the 12th Five-Year Plan for Energy Conservation and Emission Reduction in Road and Waterway Transportation, China clearly proposes to promote the use of shore power by ships docking at ports, requiring new terminals to support shore power systems, actively transforming existing terminals, and requiring ships docking to give priority to the use of shore power.
