On January 7, State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on jointly building the Belt and Road with Foreign Minister Kwapei of Botswana in Gaborone.
Today, the two countries signed an agreement on jointly building the Belt and Road, making Botswana the 46th partner country in Africa to jointly build the Belt and Road. This year also marks the 46th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between China and Botswana. This is a beautiful symbol. The Belt and Road cooperation will provide new opportunities, expand new areas and open up new prospects for the two countries to deepen mutually beneficial cooperation, boost infrastructure construction and national modernization in Botswana, and bring more benefits to the two peoples.
Botswana's President Masisi and Foreign Minister Kwappe all congratulated on this, stressing that the signing of the agreement on jointly building the Belt and Road is a new progress in bilateral relations and will provide new impetus for bilateral cooperation.
