What kind of design is "future design"?
The Golden Reed Award focuses on the purpose of "Facing the future, creating a better life for human beings, contributing Oriental wisdom, spreading design value and spirit", and establishes a judging criteria system based on whether the entries are conducive to promoting the realization of the goal of "leading the new direction of industrial development, creating a new way of social life, and helping the harmonious development of man and nature".
It includes three dimensions: First, the production dimension, emphasizing "industry leadership", including practical, innovative and other factors; The second is the dimension of life, emphasizing "life style", including human nature, aesthetics and other factors; The third is the ecological dimension, which emphasizes "harmony and symbiosis" and includes factors such as sustainability.
This year includes three rounds of evaluation, including initial evaluation, review and final evaluation, and adopts a combination of classified review and comprehensive review.
The first evaluation adopts the online graphic evaluation method, and the finalists need to send physical objects to participate in the second evaluation; The re-evaluation adopts the on-site physical evaluation method to generate nomination awards, and 43 works are selected as candidates for the Supreme Award, Gold Award, Future Star Award and Excellent Design Award to participate in the final evaluation; The final evaluation adopts the method of on-site defense review and produces the grand prize winners.
The second Golden Reed Award consists of eight categories: "Industrial equipment, transportation, home life, cultural creativity, sports health, public facilities, information processing, communication design", and will carry out global collection of works through four channels: public registration, institutional recommendation, directed invitation, and international promotion.
Enterprises, institutions, design institutions, universities, design teams, scientific research institutions and individuals from any country or region in the world are eligible to participate. No intellectual property disputes, products listed within two years or can provide a functional prototype of equal proportions before the current review can be entered.
Award setting
Compared with the first award, the design of this year's awards has changed slightly. Among them, the number of "Good Design Awards" has increased to 35, with the amount of each award unchanged, and the total amount of up to 4.5 million yuan.
Specifically, it refers to the selection of more than 100 excellent design works from all the entries (the actual number is subject to the evaluation results) to be awarded the "nomination award", and 43 particularly excellent works are awarded the "Supreme Award", "Gold Award", "Future star Award", "Excellent Design Award".
Design innovation leads industrial upgrading
This year is the first year of the 14th Five-Year Plan, and it is also a year of special importance in the process of China's modernization.
The Golden Reed Award unites local governments, local industrial design innovation centers, advanced enterprises, institutions, etc., to gather global design intelligence resources in the way of design and manufacturing orientation docking, and promote the transformation and upgrading of the manufacturing industry.

The second edition will also give full play to the resources of all parties of the awards by holding a series of activities such as GIDA Future Design Salon, design matchmaking meeting, excellent exhibition and touring exhibition, and realize the integrated service of industrial transformation. In September of the same year, an award ceremony will be held to reveal the winner of the Million design Award.
