Outside conflict
During the 2005 offseason, Tony Allen was accused of being involved in a confrontation outside a Chicago restaurant in August 2005 that began as a common argument and culminated in the non-fatal shooting of a 29-year-old man, with Tony not suspected of being the shooter. Tony was detained for two nights but was not involved in the shooting. On April 24, 2007, a Chicago court found Allen not guilty in the case.

On November 4, 2014, during a Grizzlies/Pelicans game, Allen was fined $15,000 by the league for intentionally hitting a courtside camera in frustration after being called for a foul.

In October 2021, Tony Allen was accused of defrauding about $4 million from the NBA health and welfare program and was arrested.

Domestic violence incident
On December 2, 2021, according to US media reports, the Collierville Police Department in Tennessee revealed that Tony Allen was arrested for domestic violence. Angry that his wife would not let him see his two children, Tony Allen broke into his wife's flat and threw her mobile phone down the toilet, it is claimed. The two men also got into a physical altercation, and Allen's wife scraped her left knee against the bed frame, causing bruises.
