Hildesheim became a large city with a population of over 100,000 in 1974, and today has a population of about 103,000, making it the smallest large city in Lower Saxony. Estate description
Hildesheim is located in northwest Germany, southeast of Hanover, on the banks of the Inelst River. It is famous for the Romanesque church built by Bishop Bernwald, and enjoys the reputation of "the jewel of early Romanesque architecture". The characteristics of the semi-wooden buildings form the unique character of the city of Hildesheim.
In 1985, according to the criteria (i)(ii)(iii) for cultural heritage selection, the Cathedral of St. Mary and the Church of St. Michael in Hildesheim were approved by the UNESCO World Heritage Committee as cultural properties on the World Heritage List.

St. Michael's Church was built between 1010 and 1020 AD, strictly following the symmetrical design concept, the two symmetrical semicircular apse is the old Saxon (O
ld Saxony's typical Ottonian Romanesque style. The interior of the church is also designed in the Roman church style of the Holy Roman Empire, especially the wooden ceilings, whitewashed walls, and the famous bronze doors and Bernard bronze columns.
