Changchun Temple was built in the 20th year of Wanli in the Ming Dynasty (1592). It was ordered by Empress Dowager Xiao Ding Li, mother of Emperor Shenzong of the Ming Dynasty. Emperor Shenzong gave "Changchun" to wish his mother health and longevity.
