The Vancouver campus was established in the 1980s as British Columbia's first centrally located university classroom. The extension of the bus lines and the introduction of the U-Pass for student buses have improved the traffic problem. There are currently four main bus lines (95, 143, 144 and 145) connecting the main campus to the overhead train system. Line 145, which connects Production Way-University Station and SFU main campus, is one of the most important means of transportation for SFU students. Line 144 connects Sperling-Burnaby Lake station with Metrotown Station; The 95 train runs directly to Burrard Station, located in downtown Vancouver, just one stop away from SFU Vancouver. Line 143 connects to Burquitlam Station bus station.
