Pu 'er Jingmai Mountain ancient tea forest cultural landscape, located in Yunnan province Pu 'er City Southeast of Huimin Town, Lancang Lahu Autonomous County, 237 km from Pu 'er urban area, 70 km from Lancang County, [1] Approved by The State Council as China's 2022 World Heritage official application project. Jingmai Mountain has an area of 28,000 mu of ancient tea forest, there are more than 3.2 million ancient tea trees, so far has nearly 2000 years of tea planting history, is currently found the largest area, the best preserved, the oldest artificial cultivation of ancient tea garden. On September 17, 2023, China's "Pu 'er Jingmai Mountain ancient Tea Forest Cultural landscape" heritage was added to the World Heritage List, increasing the number of World Heritage sites in China to 57. [3] [5]

On September 17, 2023, China's "Pu 'er Jingmai Mountain ancient Tea Forest Cultural Landscape" heritage was included in the" World Heritage List The number of World Heritage sites in China has increased to 57. [3] On November 19, the unveiling ceremony of "World Cultural Heritage - Pu 'er Jingmai Mountain Ancient Tea Forest Cultural Landscape" was held in Bailian Tea Manor, Huimin Town, Lancang Lahu Autonomous County, Pu 'er City, Yunnan province. "Pu 'er Jingmai Mountain Ancient Tea Forest Cultural Landscape" is located in the Lancang Lahu Autonomous County, Pu 'er City, Yunnan Province. Since the 10th century AD, the ancestors of the Blang ethnic group discovered and understood wild tea trees, made use of the forest ecosystem, and explored the planting technology of "tea under the forest" together with the Dai ethnic groups. After thousands of years of protection and development, they formed a unique cultural landscape with the coexistence of forest and tea and the harmony between people and land. "Pu 'er Jingmai Mountain ancient Tea Forest Cultural landscape" is the most complete and rich representative of artificial cultivated ancient tea forest, composed of 5 ancient tea forests, 9 Blang and Dai villages and 3 separate protective forests, which still maintains vigorous vitality, is the wisdom crystallization of Chinese farming civilization, and is the positive interaction and sustainable development of man and nature Model. UNESCO considers the "Pu 'er Jingmai Mountain Ancient Tea Forest Cultural Landscape" to be in line with World Heritage Criteria 3 and 5. It reflects the combination of government management and grassroots autonomy on the basis of traditional tea ancestors' beliefs to form a unique protection and management system of ancient tea forests. This system fully respects local climatic conditions, topographical features and animal and plant populations, and enables the conservation of cultural and biological diversity and the sustainable use of natural resources. It shows the original tradition of the people of the Blang and Dai ethnic groups in the mountain environment to make complementary use of natural resources, and the village and traditional residential buildings in the heritage components also reflect the understanding and utilization of the ecological environment in terms of site selection, pattern and architectural style .
