EDITOR
Freestyle skiing is a competition in which competitors compete for artistry by flying down the slopes, also known as snowfield acrobatics. Unlike alpine skiing, which is a competition for speed, its biggest feature is to enjoy the gorgeous aerial skills of the competitors, such as backflips and spins. In the Winter Olympics, there are five events: moguls, aerials, halfpipe, slalom and slopestyle.
Aerial Skills (AE)
Freestyle skiing aerials is a competition in which the skis take off from the jump platform and demonstrate aerial movements, similar to the vault competition in gymnastics.
After 2 rounds of preliminary selection, the top 12 contestants are selected to enter the final, which is divided into 3 rounds. Players who placed 1-8 in the first round of the finals advanced to the second round, while players who placed 1-4 in the second round advanced to the final third round.
Players can choose jumps of different difficulty according to tactics, but each jump has a specified basic movement. Competitors can add other aerial tricks to the basic movements.

The five judges were awarded a score of 20% of the air (take-off, height of the air), 50% of the movement (finishing attitude and difficulty), and 30% of the landing score, out of 10 points.
After the highest and lowest scores are excluded, the remaining three scores are added together and multiplied by the difficulty factor to obtain the final score.
Obstacle Pursuit (SX)
The freestyle ski slalom chase is a race in which four riders race on a course consisting of various terrain obstacles, and the order in which they cross the finish line determines the final standings.
In the preliminary round, 32 to 36 contestants were selected through two time records to reach the final. In the finals, the four players will be divided into groups, and the top two from each group will advance to the next round until the final.
Halfpipe Skills (Ski-HP)
Freestyle skiing halfpipe is an event that involves sliding down an inclined semi-cylindrical slope and displaying aerial skills such as jumping and turning.
Five judges will give a total score of 100 points based on height, turn, skill and difficulty, and the average score will be the final score. The contestant may perform 2 times, the higher score of which will determine the final ranking.
Freestyle skiing
Slopestyle (SS)
Freestyle ski slopestyle is a competition on a course consisting of various obstacles such as rails, tables, boxes, walls and jumps. Players can choose from a variety of obstacles.
Five judges will give a total score of 100 points based on height, turn, skill and difficulty, and the average score will be the final score. The contestant may perform 2 times, the higher score of which will determine the final ranking.
Through the qualifiers, a maximum of 24 men and 12 women can enter the final. [6]
Referee score
Normally, a panel of six judges will be assigned points according to the performance of the contestants. The score is calculated by removing one of the highest and one of the lowest scores and taking the average of the remaining scores. The judges will score the contestants on the following six dimensions.
Amplitude: the height of the player's jump. The more difficult the tricks are, the higher the score will be.
Difficulty: Focus on the rotation Angle in the jump, the way to jump, the way to land, the difficulty of the board and other actions, the more difficult the action will be scored higher. More, the score of the combo of consecutive difficult moves is also higher;
Variety: Focus on the variety of movements in the slide. For example, the repetition of the same extremely difficult movement in the slide is not even as good as the continuous combination of movements;
Progression: Trying to create your own style of skiing, or doing moves that no other skier has ever tried before, will result in high scores, because the skier's attempts to move the whole sport forward;
Execution: Focus on evaluation criteria, including the length of grabs in the air, Smooth Landing movements, and Hand-drag;
Combinations or Flow: Focus on the consistency of an athlete's movements as a whole, such as losing points if the athlete is forced to slow down or restart a complete movement. [7]
