The sport of tennis has changed a lot since the first Olympic Games, and today's Olympic tennis matches attract many shining stars. These professional tennis players, who are used to five-star hotels and big tournament bonuses, will also stay in the Olympic Village during the Olympics, where there is no prize money, they will only play for the gold medal.
Tennis was withdrawn from the Olympics after 1924 for many reasons other than the difficulty of drawing a line between professional and amateur sports. Until 1988 Seoul The Olympic Games were reinstated as an official Olympic sport.
It was listed as an official event in 1896, was cancelled in 1924, was listed as a performance event in 1984, and was listed as an official competition event in 1988.
Like professional tennis, Olympic tennis is played by a knockout system, with one loss resulting in a complete elimination.
Men's competition, except for the final, all matches use three sets of two wins; All women's matches are best of three sets; The winners of the semi-finals play for the championship and the losers play for third place.
The tennis venue for the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games was the Olympic Forest Park Tennis Court.
