Hope and Beyond, a new Asia
Common Asia, Busan to the world
(1) To promote and expand friendship and exchanges among Asian countries and foster a sense of community
2. Demonstrate the power of cities to lead Asia to prosperity in the 21st century
3, improve the cultural quality of citizens, enhance the ability to hold international competitions
[1]
The design of the emblem is composed of Taeguk, which symbolizes the host country of Korea and Busan, and the blue waves of the sea.
Tai Chi expresses the spiritual culture of the Asian circle in harmony with Yin and Yang, and the waves extending outward reflect our spirit and ambition of forging ahead and defying challenges. The meshing pattern uses the shape of tiles in traditional Korean architecture, symbolizing the female tile and the tile.
The dynamic picture of two forces meshing and rotating in the center vividly expresses the idea of Asian people and the strength of unity that transcends national borders.
The mascot of the Busan Asian Games is a flying animal
Seagull
It is the city bird of the host city of Busan. The pattern of the seagull body is vivid and simple by the use of thick ink and free lines, which exudes the charm of traditional Korean culture. At the same time, the combination of thick and thin lines also represents the enterprising spirit and lofty ideals of the Asian people entering the new era. The mascot's name is "DURIA", which means "Asia on the move". At the same time, the pronunciation of "you and I together" in Korean is "DU-RI", which is also consistent with the idea of solidarity and friendship among all Asian countries participating in the Congress.

Opening ceremony of the 2002 Asian Games in Busan
It will be held at 6 p.m. on September 29 at the main stadium of the Busan Asian Games, with about 5,200 participants. The theme of the opening ceremony is "Beautiful Meeting". The opening ceremony brought back Busan's ancient culture and mapped out another historic reunion with a promising Asian future. 3.6 billion Asian people met in Busan to build a common Asia.
On the evening of October 14, 2002, at Sajik Stadium in Busan, South Korea, the Vice President of the Olympic Council of Asia Samih Mudallal officially announced the closing of the 14th Asian Games in Busan, South Korea. The closing ceremony kicked off with an ancient ballet by 241 students, while a dance phalanx of 1,000 students from primary and secondary schools opened a prelude to the "Go Home" anthem for the Asian Games. The whole performance reflects the "joy and pride", reflecting the Korean people's congratulations on the successful hosting of the Asian Games, and the attachment and deep blessing to distant friends when parting. "The Busan Asian Games is not only the largest but also the most successful sports event in the history of Asia," said Jeong Soon, chairman of the Busan Asian Games Organizing Committee 垞 at the closing ceremony. Oca Vice President Mudallal presented the Medal of Appreciation to the Mayor of Busan to thank the people of Busan for their special contribution to the Games. The "Best Athlete" award of the Asian Games was also announced tonight, and Japanese male swimmer Kosuke Kitajima was voted the "Best athlete" by an absolute majority. Subsequently, the flag of the first Asian Games and the flag of the Olympic Council of Asia were transferred between the host of the current Asian Games, Busan City of South Korea, the Olympic Council of Asia and the host of the next Asian Games, Doha City of Qatar. All members of the Olympic Council of Asia from 44 Asian countries and regions sent delegations to attend the meeting, making this Asian Games a veritable "happy reunion" in the history of the Asian Games. The delegation of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea to participate in the Asian Games has added a positive connotation of promoting national unity on the Korean Peninsula.
