In the early Tang and Song dynasties, it was called Yuanzhou, and it was called Shitang until 32 years of the Republic of China when it was changed to Wenfeng and Meihe. Chen Pu, a world-renowned astronomer, neo-confucianist and educationalist at the end of Song Dynasty and the beginning of Yuan Dynasty, was born here.
Chen Pu, styled Shangde and styled Fear Zhai, was born in the fourth year of Song Chunyou (1244-1328 AD). In his life, he has taught Jianyang Yunzhuang Academy, Jianyang Aofeng Academy and Puzhong Bexuan Academy, creating a large number of neo-Confucianism talents. In the fourteenth year of Jiajing (1535 AD), Ye Choux, governor of Ningde County, built a temple in memory of Chen Pu and offered a statue to him. The natural landscape includes eight scenes of Stone hall under the pen of Han Xintong, a famous man of Yuan Dynasty.
In addition to "Chen Pu culture", there are "Taoist culture" and "ancient architecture culture" in stone hall. The existing ancient buildings still retain the Yuan, Ming period "nanny palace"; "Chen Pu Temple" in the thirteenth year of Jiajing; Wanli years "dismount pavilion"; Song "Zhu Xi left poems and Shen Zi bridge", as well as the Qing Dynasty "Jinshi" and "General House".
