There were almost no mainland filmmakers on the list of winners of the awards, and the winners in both technical and acting categories were mostly local Hong Kong filmmakers. Best picture went to veteran actors Tony Yam and Wai Yinghong, while best film and best director went to Bodyguards and Jonathan Chan. Since the announcement of the shortlist, there has been a lack of suspense, and the strong entry of Bodyguards and Assassins makes it almost certain to be the biggest winner before the awards. Although judging from the award list, Hong Kong films and local filmmakers seem to be in a prosperous period, it is undeniable that whether it is "Bodyguards and Assassins" or Yam Tat Wah and Wai Yinghong, although it is an inspiration to Hong Kong films, it is difficult to hide the embarrassment of no successor. Even Tse, who won the best supporting actor award, and Ye Xuan, who won the best supporting actress award, have both made their debut for many years.
