Windows 7 is a desktop operating system released by Microsoft on October 22, 2009, the kernel version number is Windows NT 6.1, the development code: Vienna, later named "7".
Windows 7 can be used by laptops, multimedia centers, etc. in home and business work environments. Windows 7 inherited a number of features, including the Aero style, and added other features on top of it.

Major support for Windows 7 ended on January 14, 2020, meaning Microsoft stopped providing security updates and technical support for the operating system. This date marks the end of the "Extended support" phase of Windows 7, which ended with "mainstream support" on January 13, 2015.
