He Hongmei was born in 1968 to an intellectual family in Qinhuangdao city, Hebei province.
His father was an automotive engineer and his mother worked in medicine. As the youngest daughter in the family, He Hongmei has been under the care of her parents and two older brothers since childhood. He Hongmei, who has excelled in both character and study since primary school, is also a well-known activist in cultural and entertainment activities. In 1986, when the Communication University of China (formerly Beijing Broadcasting College) commissioned the Radio and Television Department of Qinhuangdao, Hebei Province, to look for and select the students of the broadcasting department in Qinhuangdao, He Hongmei stood out with her straight A's in cultural courses and professional courses, and was favored by the examiners.
