Nigeria's road administration confirmed on September 17, 2019 that 18 people were killed and 6 injured in a serious traffic accident in Nasarawa State in central Nigeria. Ismaira Kugu, head of the Nasarawa state road administration department, told the media that the accident occurred on the 15th, a bus collided with a truck coming from the road in the state, resulting in 13 people were killed on the spot. As of the evening of the 16th, of the 11 injured people sent to the hospital, 5 died of their injuries, and the other 6 are still receiving treatment. Kugu said authorities had launched an investigation into the cause of the accident. He urged the public to drive cautiously and pay attention to the daily maintenance of vehicles to avoid unfortunate accidents.
