By defining the security level of data and devices, HarmonyOS classifies and classifies data and devices to ensure safe and reliable data flow.

According to Huawei, Hongmeng OS2.0 system is the first truly created for the whole scene era of distributed operating system, through cross-device collaboration, large and small screen interaction, extremely fast networking, adaptive UX, visible and spoken AI enabled voice interaction, developers open source, etc., add wings to imagination, become a powerful engine for ecological construction.

The distributed application framework can package the complex inter-device collaboration into a simple interface, which can be separated, combined and transferred, and easily realize cross-device application collaboration. Developers only need to focus on business logic, do not have to care about cross-end scheduling and communication details, reduce code and complexity, and greatly improve the efficiency of full-scene experience development. Distributed application framework SDK/API developer Beta has been launched simultaneously, providing more than 13,000 apis step by step, supporting the development of large screen, watch, car and other applications.

In terms of compilers, HarmonyOS uses Ark Compiler 2.0, which supports high-performance multilingual compilation. It can eliminate the cross-language interaction overhead and unify the runtime. A unified multilingual front end that gives developers the freedom to choose Java, JavaScript, and other languages; Multi-device elastic deployment is realized through component decoupling. In terms of IDE, HarmonyOS 2.0 has created an all-scene cross-device integrated development tool Huawei DevEco 2.0. It has three characteristic capabilities, developers can preview UI in real time when programming, to achieve programming WYSIWYG; Provide API intelligent completion to achieve efficient coding; For multi-device testing challenges, DevEco Studio provides high-performance simulation and real-time commissioning.

It is understood that Huawei consumer business CEO Yu Chengdong said that today will launch large screen, watch, car Hongmeng OS 2.0 Beta version, will be released in December mobile phone version, 2021 Huawei smartphones fully support Hongmeng OS 2.0 version.

Yu Chengdong said in his speech that Huawei donated the code to the China Open Atom Open Source Foundation and announced the open source roadmap for HarmonyOS: "From September 10, HarmonyOS will be open source for 128KB-128MB devices such as large screens, watches, and cars, followed by 128MB-4GB devices in April 2021, and all devices with 4GB or more from October 2021 onwards."
