HongKong Tourism Board Established on 1 April 2001, the former Hong Kong Tourist Association was established by law in 1957. Under the Hong Kong Tourism Board Ordinance, which came into effect in 2001, the HKTB has six objectives:
  • To enhance the contribution of tourism to Hong Kong;
  • To promote Hong Kong worldwide as a leading international city and a world-class tourist destination in Asia;
  • Advocate the improvement of passenger facilities;
  • To support the Government in promoting tourism to the public;
  • To support, where appropriate, the activities of those who provide services to visitors to Hong Kong;
  • To advise and advise the Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region on possible measures to facilitate the above matters. [1]
To achieve these objectives, the HKTB has maintained regular communication with stakeholders, participated in a number of tourism-related strategy groups and meetings, and worked closely with relevant government departments and agencies, the tourism industry and other organizations directly or indirectly related to the tourism industry.
In addition, the HKTB conducts extensive visitor visits and studies to collect information on the characteristics and preferences of visitors to Hong Kong. The HKTB will draw on these research data, together with the latest trends and development patterns of the tourism industry, as well as the analyses and forecasts of international organizations, to formulate appropriate promotion strategies for different source markets and customer segments.
The HKTB carries out various forms of publicity at different times of the year. At the same time, it organizes various large-scale events or events to promote to the tourism industry, the media and consumers around the world, enrich the tourist experience during their stay in Hong Kong, and create a business platform for the tourism industry in Hong Kong.

HKTB was formerly known as Hong Kong Tourist association (short for Travel association ; English: Hong Kong Tourist Association , for short HKTA ), was established in 1957 under the Hong Kong Tourist Association Ordinance to promote overseas tourism and attract tourists to Hong Kong. It is a membership organization consisting of travel industry members and ordinary members, with more than 1300 members. The management and supervision of the Association is undertaken by the Council, and the funds come from the rent income of hotel members.
In 1999, the HKTA completed a long-term development strategy study and recommended strengthening publicity and marketing. The second is to restructure the organization and administrative structure, abolish the membership system, increase the number of council members, and strengthen support for overseas publicity work.
Legislative Council of Hong Kong The Hong Kong Tourist Association (Amendment) Bill 2001 was passed on 14 March 2001, and the Hong Kong Tourist Association was reconstituted as the Hong Kong Tourism Board on 1 April 2001.
After the establishment of HKTB, the post of Chairman was held by the former Chairman of the HKTA Board Selina Chow The existing 11 members of the HKTA Council will remain in office and the Government will appoint nine new members.
Tourism commission To formulate policies on the development of Hong Kong's tourism industry; When the policies of other government departments affect the development of tourism, the Tourism Commission will co-ordinate and co-ordinate.

In November 1999, the Hong Kong Tourism Board launched the Quality tourism services" Plan ( Quality Tourism Services , abbreviation: QTS ).
Quality tourism
The certification scheme aims to enhance the service culture of merchants and help customers identify quality service providers. Merchants must comply with strict requirements and pass an annual assessment to ensure that their products and services meet the standard of "clear price, clear information and quality service" before they can obtain certification. Approved merchants will display the "Quality Tourism Services" sign in the window for identification.
