Xiuning County Library
First-class library
The construction of Xiuning County Library started in 1923, and Xiuning County Library (Tunxi) was established in 1959. After the division of Xiutun in 1961, Xiuning Library was managed by the County Cultural Center. In 1980, Xiuning County Library was established again, and in April 2008, it moved to the cultural New area in the center of the county.

Xiuning County Library (library 1) is located in the east side of the Zhuangyuan Pavilion in the old city, covering an area of 1300 square meters, construction area of 2600 square meters. In 2016, in order to improve the service capacity and service level of the county library, the county government arranged a new building (two buildings) in the Shuyuan Road Cultural Center of the new district, and opened to the public at the end of 2017. The new building covers an area of 3,000 square meters, with a construction area of 5,000 square meters.

At present, it has a collection of 466,96 volumes, including 64,000 books (including ancient books), 20,000 periodicals and newspapers, 96 audio-visual documents, and 400,000 electronic books. The annual collection volume is 2,600 kinds, and the annual purchase expense is 50,000 yuan. The daily reception is about 450 readers (including readers' network services and electronic book reading). Equipped with the advanced ILAS library automation integration system, the National Cultural Information Sharing Project Xiuning branch center was established, and the construction of the general branch library in 21 townships in the county was completed in 2015.
Adhering to the purpose of "readers first and service first", Xiuning County Library takes preserving human cultural heritage, carrying out social education, transmitting scientific information, developing intellectual resources, and providing culture and entertainment as its main functions, and provides the public with services such as document borrowing, bibliographic retrieval, material inquiry, cultural information resource sharing, online browsing, and knowledge lectures. It is open all day, not closed on holidays, and is open for 56 hours a week for free.
In the development of quality services at the same time, also often carry out a series of reading activities, such as: book publicity week, children's story speech, summer camp for left-behind children, sending books to the countryside, reader forum. Since April 1, 2009, it has been open to readers for free in the province. In 2018, it was rated as a "first-class library".
On October 26, 2012, it was awarded the honorary title of "the tenth Civilized Unit of Huangshan City" by the Guiding Committee of Spiritual Civilization Construction of Huangshan City.
