The magnificence of the scene can be described as the supreme enjoyment. After viewing the view, it is recommended that you take a hike down the mountain along the extensive pastures while viewing the cattle and alpine plants.
From Fitznau, Galdau and Vergis, visitors can take the mountain train or the cable car up the mountain for a panoramic view. The mountain train station in Fitznau is less than an hour by boat from Lucerne Pier.
There are more than 100 kilometers of walking trails on Mount Regis. There are many hotels, restaurants and holiday apartments. The beautiful landscape and strong Swiss customs attract many tourists and business guests to hold conferences and training here every year.
Mount Regis has been documented as early as the 14th century, but it was officially named in the 17th century. "Regi" means "Queen of Mountains Regina Mountium". In this famous tourist spot, there is the first European mountaineering railway opened from Fitznau in 1871 - from the back of the mountain, Art Goldau, and the air cable car from Vergis to the summit.

Cultural figures such as Victor Hugo visited here. In 1864, Queen Victoria also visited Mount Regis. In 1871, a mountain railway was built here, the first mountain railway in Europe, and steam locomotives are still preserved.
1. Vitznau by mountain train VRB (red) →18 minutes to St. Regis Kaltbad station at 1,453 meters above sea level → Rigi Staffel → Rigi Kulm (about 30 minutes one way). Opened in 1871, it was the first mountaineering railway in Europe. The electric railway was opened in 1937, but steam locomotives were also used on special days.
2. Arth-Goldau by mountain train ARB (blue) → Chrabel → Regi Kulm about 45 minutes one way. Built in 1875, the line was electricised in 1907 before the Fitznau Railway and was the forerunner of the electric toothed mountaineering railway. At Rigi Kloesterli, a stopover on the way, you can visit the church of Maria of the Snows, which welcomed many pilgrims before the railway opened.
