Uncle Zhan is a flagship for the American independent film industry, so the cooperation has caused a huge shock in the American industry - American filmmakers suddenly realized that Chinese filmmakers and film companies now have the basis for cooperation of this magnitude and this level with American filmmakers and film companies. Speaking of this cooperation, Dong Wenjie interpreted it this way: "Although we do not know the details of the cooperation between other Chinese and American film and television companies, from the public news, our cooperation with Uncle Zhan is very different from the cooperation of other several companies." We should be the first and only structured cooperation based on the right to first look so far. After James Shams left Focus Features at the end of 2013, he was approached by as many as 25 Chinese companies to work with him. Cooperation with Uncle Zhan, Dong Wenjie classified as "predestined people" three words. How big is the Chinese film market? Hollywood blockbusters have been helping us get to the bottom. Meanwhile, Dong Wenjie has set his sights on the global market. Dong Wenjie believes that such cooperation must be the development trend of the future, and she just took the first step.
Dong Wenjie said: "The integration of the global film industry will definitely become deeper and deeper, and this trend will become more and more obvious. The early and current cooperation between China and the United States is mainly an investment behavior, because the Chinese market is rich and capricious, and can choose to cooperate with big-name stars and directors to earn temporary eyeballs and money. However, if the Chinese film industry wants to really move forward steadily, it must start from the foundation, start from zero, start from talent training, and start from every link in the film industry. On this issue, Uncle Zhan and I have a high degree of agreement, we have the same goal and pursuit, have a common dream. We are not sprinters, not 100-meter sprints, no quick success to earn a vote to cash out; We all want to be marathon runners in this industry, and hopefully our work will live on in this world when we're gone."
For future projects, Dong Wenjie made it clear: "The target is not limited to the Chinese market - we plan to develop projects in pure English films, some projects do not consider the Chinese market at all, whether because of quota or subject matter and other factors, some projects may be doomed from the beginning it can not be imported and screened in China." In addition, we hope to have at least one co-produced film every year, with heavy Chinese elements in terms of story and subject matter. There will also be pure Mandarin films, which are very pure Chinese stories, even local Chinese stories, but they use international language and universal values to tell such stories, and I hope people around the world will love to watch and understand them."

Looking at Dong Wenjie's career experience, there was a long period of time when she worked as a journalist, both domestic and overseas. Dong Wenjie is very grateful for her work experience, because the accumulation of the past two decades has enabled her to always stand at the height of the whole industrial chain and think about the core issues of industrial development from a global perspective. Dong Wenjie said: "I am a strong learning ability of the person, curiosity is also particularly heavy, whatever I am responsible for the work, I must make it clear, anything not done, to do it must be done." When I moved to the film industry, I had a headache at the beginning when I was managing equipment and technology, because I didn't understand it at all. So I began to learn from the DCI specification of digital film equipment, so thick a large book, a week to eat it all through. I am not afraid of any unfamiliar area, I am willing to accept challenges, learn from the beginning, and quickly become familiar with the unfamiliar."
