CCTV TV Drama Channel (channel call sign: CCTV-8, referred to as: CCTV TV Drama channel or CCTV Eight), is a professional channel to broadcast TV dramas, which was launched on January 1, 1996.

On January 1, 1996, CCTV-8 was launched as "CCTV Literary Channel".
